The owners of Trailside Retreat did not fall for a grand gesture. They fell for the way everyday life feels here.
It is the ease of walking out the door and finding the Blue River Trail; the relief of returning from a long mountain day to a warm living room and a fire; and the courtyard, private from the street but open to the sky, where a soak in the jacuzzi turns into one more hour outside.
They love that the house invites people to be together without asking them to do anything elaborate. Breakfast can stretch across the kitchen island. Boots and jackets have a place to land. Someone can read by the window while dinner comes together, and everyone can end up in the living room when the evening turns cold.
That is what they hope guests find here too: not a showpiece to admire from a distance, but a true mountain home to settle into. It is a place for familiar rituals, unexpected conversations, and the kind of days that feel full without feeling hurried.
